WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR FILES

Your uploaded GPX is stored only in temporary processing space. After LiftPrune finishes analyzing the ride and creates the corrected file, the source GPX is deleted. If processing fails, the temporary job files are deleted.

The corrected file remains available only long enough for you to download it. After a successful download it is deleted. If you never download it, LiftPrune treats it as stale after 30 minutes and removes it during subsequent cleanup.

WHAT LIFTPRUNE DOESN'T DO

LiftPrune does not require an account, does not connect to your Strava or Garmin account, and does not maintain a database of uploaded activities. Application logs are designed not to contain your route coordinates, raw GPX contents, generated activity files, or uploaded filename.

OPTIONAL BETA DONATIONS

After a successful result, you may separately choose to donate a privacy-cleaned research copy. Donation is optional, unchecked by default, and never required to receive the FIT. The retained copy contains route coordinates, elevation, timestamps, and track structure, plus the feedback you submit. Activity names, filenames, device identifiers, unnecessary metadata, extensions, and waypoints are removed.

Donations are stored privately in Canada, accessible only to the LiftPrune project owner, and retained for up to 12 months for product evaluation. Route geometry and timestamps may still identify where and when you rode, so the copy is privacy-cleaned but not anonymous.

WITHDRAWING A DONATION

Use your contribution receipt and one-time withdrawal secret on the withdrawal page. A verified request permanently removes the active GPX object, associated feedback, and active consent linkage. LiftPrune retains only a minimal deletion tombstone for up to 90 days to demonstrate that the deletion occurred.

Deletion from the active system is immediate when confirmed and is targeted within seven days if a temporary service problem requires retry. Encrypted infrastructure backups may persist until the hosting provider's normal backup rotation expires; they are not used as active research data and are not restored selectively except for disaster recovery.

BETA MEASUREMENT

LiftPrune uses Vercel Web Analytics to measure anonymized daily visitors, page views, and referral sources such as Reddit. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies and does not track a visitor between different days or websites.

LiftPrune also stores aggregate event rows when an activity is processed successfully or a corrected FIT is downloaded. These event rows contain only the event type and time. They do not contain IP addresses, browser details, account identifiers, filenames, GPX contents, or route geometry. Analytics failures do not prevent processing or downloading.

SERVICE LOGS

For reliability and security, LiftPrune records limited operational information such as request status, processing duration, request IDs, and broad success or failure events. The hosting platform may also record normal web-service metadata such as browser information, region, and request timing.

On the results page, the map background is supplied by CARTO. Your browser requests only the map tiles needed for the area shown, so CARTO may receive ordinary request metadata and tile coordinates indicating the approximate map area. LiftPrune does not send CARTO your uploaded GPX file or complete route.
